QUESTION: Masters, recently I was looking for new opportunities of learning about energy and I thought it was a nice idea for me to continue another level of Reiki that I started 5 years ago. But along the way I thought of an interesting question: are Reiki symbols really necessary in channeling love energy? If I just use my hands and my intention to bring love energy from the universe is it effective and have the same amount of energy as Reiki using symbols? ~Regina, Brazil

ANSWER: The effectiveness depends on your beliefs about the needed actions. Anyone can use the universal life force, or unconditional loving Source energy, at any time, for any reason, merely by presenting the intention to the universe. You don’t need symbols or even hand signals unless you believe they are needed.

All healing energy does is balance the physical body back to its original state. It takes two people to accomplish that: the practitioner who is calling on the energy and directing it to the client, and the client having the faith that the energy is going to help them restructure their physical infirmity.

The practitioner must not become vested in the outcome or think that they are the reason for any healing that is accomplished, beyond being the conduit for the energy.

The client must accept that they can be healed and maintain that intention throughout the sessions. If they have doubts about the effectiveness, it diminishes the results. If they have called the imbalance in the first place, like thinking they will get breast cancer because so many of their relatives have had it, they may bring the disease back unless they can accept their own ability to create the reality within which they live.

Some Reiki students believe that the flow of energy cannot begin unless they invoke the Reiki symbols. This initially was taught so that only those chosen by the teacher would be regarded as able to conduct the energy. Intention is the only “tool”
needed to get the energy flowing.

All forms of energy healing, regardless what titles they go by, use the same universal energy. Some have even more symbols and procedures than Reiki – but they too may begin with intention alone.

QUESTION: Masters, I have been told by 3 different psychics, who I did not ask for readings, that they had a message for me from my guides, that I need to develop my spiritual abilities and help people. I was told that as time goes on, I will be able to communicate with my guides and hear them more clearly. Is there anything I can do to help me on this journey? I am not sure how to begin tapping into these abilities. My guides don’t give them any more details to the message. I don’t even
know what these abilities are exactly but I keep getting this message year after year. Please give me some insight into this. ~Holly, USA

ANSWER: When a soul has made plans to do something while they are on Earth and time is passing with no memory of what that mission was, your guides may step in and try to remind you depending upon how assertive you were during the planning. A guide will not contact you and attempt to tell you what to do if you had not granted prior permission.

Every soul’s purpose in coming is to understand who they are as a piece of Source energy and just what the powers and abilities available to them actually are. To reach a position of being able to use any of these abilities, you first have to accept that they exist and that you have access to them. If you accept that Source is all-powerful, all-magnificent, all-knowing, and all-creative, then you are getting nearer to seeing what you can do within your body.

Developing your spirituality has to do with moving away from negativity and ego judgment, going into positive thinking and evaluation. You have completed the other lessons you chose for this life because you wanted extra time to assist others on their journeys.

You hadn’t decided exactly what form that would take, but you had considered being a channel to communicate messages from Home to Earth, being a teacher for others to understand what connecting with their inner essences was like, or helping people know they had freedom of choice in all matters in this life. Your guides are available to assist you with working on any, or all, of these possibilities.

Learning to go from thinking into feeling is the first step. When you only think, you are just repeating what has been delivered to you through the words of others or things you have read. It may have nothing to do with your own experiences or what resonates with you.

During quiet periods in your day, or as you lie down at night, ask your guides to introduce themselves and help you feel more comfortable with your talents. This can also be done during a meditation where you create a special meeting room to which you can invite those who can assist you in your journey. Take your time. Don’t get flustered if the going is slow. And always remember you have freedom of choice to do this or not, or to call a halt at any time you choose.

QUESTION: Masters one medium told me that my friend, who committed suicide last year, is suffering greatly in the “valley of suicides”, because he has transgressed divine laws. She directed me to pray for suffering souls, of Kardecism. I did not like the prayer. I believe in free will and unconditional love outside the earth. Is my friend
really still suffering? Should I pray for him yet? Please, tell me how he is. ~Isadora, Brazil

ANSWER: Your friend had a good laugh over the words of the medium and your battle between what you were told and what you believe in your heart from your awakening state. What the medium told you sounds a little like the religious concept of purgatory or something that would be said of a karmic consequence in response to negative activities. These things exist in your world only if you believe they are present.

To whom do you pray if you create your own reality and negativity only exists on Earth? Who can change what you have manifested? All decisions are individually determined. No one can change your choices unless you agree. There is no supreme or higher being creating your world and changing it as they wish.

There is no valley of suicides because neither your friend nor anyone else has transgressed divine laws. The laws are that every soul is broken off from Source and therefore is in its image and likeness composed of unconditional love. Each soul, while experiencing negativity in the only place they can, which is Earth, has total freedom of choice to decide what they wish to learn.

Outside of the plane of Earth there is nothing but unconditional loving energy. Once your friend left his corporeal body, he went into that love and found not a scintilla of negativity around with which he had to deal. He is back spending time with other souls of his acquaintance and watching what is going on in the wake of his leaving.

He wants you to know that he left as he did because he had made an agreement with a number of people, including you, to go so that you would have to deal with his method of death. He had never planned on being around much longer than he was. He had accomplished what he set out to learn, and sticking around was becoming boring. He will be back before long because there are new things he wants to explore.
