Self-choices and lessons

QUESTION: Masters, my daughter has died. When we are reunited in the spirit world, can we decide never to be separated again? Or do the guides decide these things? I have told her to wait for me so that we can be together. Why did she die? Was it pre-arranged? Was it my failing as a mother that contributed to her ending her life? What lessons did we both have to learn from this experience? If a suicide is not predetermined—why doesn’t something happen to stop it? My daughter died while I was cooking in the kitchen and her friend slept less than a meter from her. If it was not predestined, wouldn’t something different have happened–that is, I could have walked into the room, her friend could have woken up, the phone could have rung? Why would anyone agree to so much suffering in life? ~Luci, Australia

ANSWER: Every soul makes its own decisions about whom they spend time with and when they incarnate together. No one else – guide, adviser or other soul – makes those choices for them. Once you are together again, you will talk and decide what you feel is the best for each of you in your continuing existence, which, remember, is eternal.

Your daughter chose the lessons she came to Earth to learn. Some of the lessons involved making contracts with you and others who were to share the planet at the same time. She had chosen to return early mainly for the opportunity it gave to those who remained behind to examine their feelings and understanding about why some choices are made and what can be learned from them.

Your lessons involved guilt, abandonment, and a sense of betrayal. Her friend questions the entire event and what she should have seen, known, and done to prevent it. Other family and friends have done the “what if” routine as a way of trying to understand what your daughter did. But this is not about your daughter as much as it is about the evolution of those who remained behind and their understanding about the journey of the soul from one lifetime to another.

It is only in negativity and suffering that the soul has the experiences that awaken it to the wisdom of the lesson chosen and how to learn from it and apply that knowledge to all other similar events in life.

Why are souls still coming to Earth?

QUESTION: Master I remain perplexed as to why souls – existing in unconditional love and harmony – would choose to experience some of the more horrific aspects of life on earth. Is it to gain an insight into negativity through a lesson which requires negativity to be experienced?  Are new souls still being created for this to be learnt which merely takes them back to where they started, it seems bizarre. If so many souls have prior knowledge (through previous lives) why not share experiences? Was it not Source that wished to experience the opposite of what it is, through souls that were created – how many souls need to have these often terrifying ordeals in order to fulfill that purpose? ~Jane, Greece

ANSWER: There have not been any new souls created for several of your millennia. While only a fraction of the existing souls are ever on Earth at any one time it is always by their choice. While it is true that just about anything that could be experienced has been completed by at least one soul, there are many who wish to have the experiences for themselves.

Hundreds of thousands of people have run marathons. That does not stop others from wishing to go through the event. One can be told how to train, what effort is needed, the “wall” that occurs at a certain distance into the race where one feels unable to go further, and the euphoria and total exhaustion that completion of the entire length brings to the victors. But just knowing the facts does not allow one to have the physical sensations the exertion of running the race oneself can bring. You must “do it” to have the wisdom that only participation can impart.

The knowledge of one is the knowledge of all, but the wisdom derived from the experience is the possession only of those who had the experience. Spiritual wisdom is the ability to take the learning from an event and apply it to all similar types of events. With knowledge only, you may not see the applicability of the occurrence to something else. When a soul wants to live through a lesson, it can only be done in the physical body, confronting the physical challenges.

Souls seeking to master a particular characteristic will come back time and again to vary their situations to understand and learn from all angles. For example if one is studying love, the opposite of which is hate, they will spend lifetimes where they are hated for any one of a number of reasons. Then they will return and practice romantic love, self-love, or unconditional love. Most humans think only in terms of romantic love, but that is a very small part of the love spectrum.

Getting to know “you”

QUESTION: Masters instead of asking you all the questions I have written down (that seem to be from an ‘I’ perspective and personal only to ‘me’), how can I clearly and resolutely answer my own questions? I often feel conflicted about my own intuition/answers and feel better when they are validated. How can I be clear about my life’s path, without the need for confirmation? ~Aimee, USA

ANSWER: You, as all human beings, spent many years under the tutelage of older people. You looked to them for validation of your ability to comply with what they wanted you to do. You always felt comfortable when you didn’t have to take responsibility for your own actions without guidance from them. Well, baby, they aren’t around anymore, unless you solicit their advice.

As you began your personal journey, you had some sense of having freedom of choice to change the way you saw the lessons that were imposed upon you. Yet, wanting to “only do what is right,” you also wanted the guidance to continue. Despite your desire to be in control of your life, you still want direction from others because then you know you will never be wrong. And you will have someone else to blame if things don’t turn out as you expected.

Control is an illusion because it only relates to the actions that you take – you have no control over how another will react to what you do. You cannot predict the outcome because you haven’t made the choices yet as to the path you may learn from the most.

The difficulty you are having with your intuition is your ego mind coming in and making judgments about what is happening in your life. You are over-analyzing the possibilities based on things you have seen or been told. Step away from the expectations and let your intuition guide you toward what feels like the appropriate course of action for you.

Know that each soul calls to itself what it needs to experience. You are always in the right place at the right time to work on your life lessons. As we like to say, let go, trust in your unconscious self (your soul), enter the flow of life, and just see what it is you desire to experience.
